As an internationally trained ophthalmic surgeon with sub-specialist areas of expertise, Dr Roufas’ unwavering passion lies in providing exceptional patient care, achieving optimal outcomes through focussed specialisation, and safeguarding the eye health of her patients.
Dr Roufas completed her Ophthalmology training in Sydney, Australia. She subsequently completed sub-specialist training in Glaucoma at Westmead Hospital in Sydney. Dr Roufas then undertook an additional two-years of advanced sub-specialist training in cornea and anterior segment trauma at the prestigious King’s College Hospital in London, UK, where she was trained in the latest techniques in cornea surgery. Dr Roufas’ training and experience in these high-volume tertiary referral settings have developed her cornea, glaucoma, cataract and refractive surgery skills.
Dr Roufas has published in many peer-reviewed journals and has presented at international conferences. She is a consultant ophthalmologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney.
In addition to English, Dr Roufas is fluent in Greek.
